Located in Walt Disney World, this 1967-room resort and convention center encompasses 1,250,000 square feet on 142 acres and was completed in 1997. Its festive Spanish Colonial design theme reflects the architecture of the Southwest and Mexico. The resort features over 95,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 60,000 square foot Coronado Ballroom, the largest ballroom in the United States. Other amenities include a 15-acre lake, a 46-foot Mayan pyramid waterfall in the swimming pool, and a 420-seat food court. Glover Smith Bode Architects collaborated with the owner’s design team to provide the stylized Mexican theme for the resort. Glover Smith Bode provided planning and design services for the convention center and provided Architect-of-Record services for the entire resort.
